The Symplegma Development Environment (SDE) aims to provide a complete and integrated, educationally oriented, modeling environment for creating, analyzing, and visualizing multiphysics models. It is a platform for computational mechanics and numerical methods in engineering utilizing java virtual machine technology. The core source code (climax) is written in pure java while the SDE user interface employs the groovy shell as scripting engine. Finite and Boundary element methods have been developed in some extent. A respective web site (www.symplegma.org) is still under construction.
