The exhibits are intended to tell the story of the development of film technology and craft, while conveying its social and cultural impact. The designers are also trying to create a \u201cwow\u201d factor, with galleries intended to awe visitors with the emotional power of film.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The museum at the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue has been in development for seven years, and under construction since early 2016. The Academy has raised $281 million toward a goal of $388 million. The opening was initially projected for 2016, and then delayed several times. Last year, officials had stated that the museum would open at some point in 2019, without being more specific. They now say the opening is about a year away.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-103\" src=\"http:\/\/siteblog.tuc.gr\/ddagres\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/274\/2019\/05\/academy_museum-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"academy_museum\" width=\"604\" height=\"453\" srcset=\"https:\/\/siteblog.tuc.gr\/ddagres\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/274\/2019\/05\/academy_museum-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/siteblog.tuc.gr\/ddagres\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/274\/2019\/05\/academy_museum-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/siteblog.tuc.gr\/ddagres\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/274\/2019\/05\/academy_museum-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/siteblog.tuc.gr\/ddagres\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/274\/2019\/05\/academy_museum.jpg 1600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 604px) 100vw, 604px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cIt hasn\u2019t been easy,\u201d said Dawn Hudson, the Academy CEO, at a luncheon at the Petersen Automotive Museum. \u201cIt\u2019s an enormous undertaking and full of risk.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Kerry Brougher, the museum director, announced that the first special exhibition will be the Miyazaki retrospective.
